Project Geologist

Our client is the one of Australia's leading coal producers and exporters, with operations throughout Australia.  They are currently sourcing an experienced Project Geologist to join their successful team. 

The ROLE and CANDIDATE 
  • Project Geologist to work in remote field camps. 
  • The job is Perth based, there will be no FIFO from other capitals within Australia as there are both office and field components to the position.  
The successful candidate will be required to work between the field and Perth office.    
  • A minimum of 3 years experience within Exploration, but no more than 7 years experience as the scope of the work may not be challenging for a senior candidate. 
  • The right candidate will be seeking a role with possibly a new commodity and to run small projects comprising of multiple tenement packages. 
  • The role has a very remote field work component - camping in tents with a caravan.  Facilities include a kitchen, shower/laundry, a small office, internet and satellite television. 
  • The client is seeking an individual that loves what exploration "used to be" - remote camping and who love being out in the bush. 
  • Flexibility is required as the client typically aims for 2-weeks field based, 1- week office based and time off comprises of days in lieu taken over for weekends and public holiday worked, which would equate to 1 week off.
  • Field season is typically mid-March through to mid-November. 
  • Exploration is targeting magmatic Nickel, Copper and PGE's, but also exploring for Iron-Ore, Coal and other commodities within Australia and the region. 
  • The region is in a Native Title reserve so there is no alcohol permitted. 
  • This position offers the opportunity to work in other projects within Australia, as well as opportunities for overseas travel. 
  • Training and Career Development is offered and continuously encouraged.
