Site Engineer
A Mining Company in the Steelpoort area, +/- 65 Km form Lydenburg, Mpumalanga, has a vacancy for a Site Engineer.
Job Summary Statement:
- Coordinates the technical aspects on contracts and the interpretation of drawings and contract specifications.
- Carries out the legal appointments as a responsible engineer (Reg. 2.13.1 or 2.13.3.1) as per site requirement.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Project Management
- Productivity Improvement
- Plan, organise and monitor the maintenance of machinery
- Plan, organise and monitor maintenance work activities
- Plan and manage resources to ensure sufficient staff and equipment to effectively operate machinery
- Perform multidisciplinary and integrated project engineering functions by ensuring projects delivery (time, budget, reporting, quality & standards)
- Monitor programme in terms of equipment, machinery and resources
- Management of Technical Resources
- Management of Technical Processes
- Manage and maintain drawing control system
- Manage and assess the performance of individual team members
- Investigate and report on product failures, complaints and quality non-compliance issues
- Investigate and evaluate known production and maintenance constraints
- Delivers QA/QC business information to the relevant stakeholders
- Conduct root cause analyses of repetitive plant stoppages and breakdowns
- Complete and update project administration
- Build and maintain relationships with the relevant stakeholders
- Assist with the implementation of a quality management system
- Adhere to Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) policies and procedures
Academic Qualifications:
- National Diploma - Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Government Certificate of Competency- Electrical or Mechanical Mines
Experience:
- At least 10 years mining experience in the underground hard rock mining industry, of which at least 3 years must be as a Reg. 2.13.1 or 2.13.3.1 appointed Engineer in charge of Mechanise Mining Machines
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- The capacity for performing tasks requiring movement, strength and/or perception.
- It includes specific aptitudes such as finger dexterity, hand-eye coordination, motor coordination, visual acuity, etc.
- The capacity for dealing effectively with spatial relations, visual-spatial tasks and the orientation of objects in space.
- It includes specific aptitudes such as form perception, visualizing movement, etc.
- The capacity for understanding, operating, building and modifying mechanical devices.
- It includes specific aptitudes such as mechanical reasoning, object assembly, etc.
- The capacity for using specific knowledge, tools or other equipment to enhance performance.
- It includes specific aptitudes such as computer programming, understanding electrical systems, etc.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Projects and AutoCad
Behavioural Competencies:
