Mine Electrician

Remarkable Mining venture has an outstanding position open for an Electrician on a 6 month contract.

The mine is one of the largest open pit operations in Southern Africa with a life of mine in excess of 20 years. The mine is looking for highly educated, motivated and dedicated individuals who would like to grow and develop with the mine. The ideal candidate should have good communication skills in a competitive environment, a strong desire to learn new skills, be able to work independently as well as part of a team and enjoy high stress production environments.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 or N3 Electrical qualification
• Electrical Trade Test
• Minimum 3 years Operational Electrical experience (Up to 22kV)
• Valid code 08 driver`s license
• Operating Regulations for HV Systems qualified.
• Operation and maintenance of MV overhead lines and equipment.

Electrical Maintenance:

• Perform daily/weekly/monthly/annual maintenance on electrical apparatus
• Ensure availability of material and equipment
• Implement new electrical connections as and when required
• Wire new electrical panels and switchgear
• Rewire old panels, switchgear and modified circuits

Breakdowns:

• Identify possible defects or problems proactively and suggest, implement corrective action
• Repair minor defects on site
• Report major defects and temporarily repair equipment, schedule for major repair at workshop, or take to workshop immediately

Customer relations:

• Maintain internal relations to ensure departmental needs are met and employees are satisfied
• Provide relevant and specialized technical support to applicable stakeholders

SHREQ:

• Enhance safety awareness throughout working area
• Ensure working area and equipment is clean and safe at all times and in good working condition
• Ensure and comply with safety standards guidelines, policies and procedures
• PPE is worn during shift and safety rules and regulations adhered to
• Declaration of safe working place
• Oversee housekeeping principles are adhered to
• Preference will be given to Historically disadvantaged individuals.
• The candidate must reside in the Mpumalanga area.
