Staff Auditor

Key Responsibilities

• Perform internal financial, operational and compliance audits
• Testing internal controls
• Detailed documentation on audits
• Collect and analyze data to detect deficient controls, non-compliance with laws, regulations and management policies
• Prepare detailed reports on audit findings
• Report to management about audit results and recommend changes in operational, compliance or financial activities
• Inspect account books and accounting systems for efficiency, effectiveness and use of accepted accounting procedures
• Examine whether the organization's objectives are reflected in its management activities and whether employees understand the objectives
• Conduct the internal investigations of compliance issues
• Identify compliance issues that require follow up or investigation
• Keep informed regarding pending industry changes, trends, best practices and assess the potential impact of these changes on organizational processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with an accounting major
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in public accounting or internal audit
• Strong knowledge of audit and accounting procedures
• Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with business partners at all levels of management
• Critical thinking skills and the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
• Experience in handling sensitive and confidential information
• Have the ability to quickly grasp new ideas and processes
• 25% travel within North America and Canada
