Responsibilities
- The entry-level Geotechnical Engineer position is responsible to complete engineering assignments in support or [Company] business. This will require a knowledge of soil mechanics, rock engineering, and geotechnical design as associated with heavy civil construction. The Geotechnical Engineer will work on an interdisciplinary team including structural engineers, estimators, schedulers and construction experts to provide advice on construction methodology, geotechnical risk, and the design of temporary works. This position will be responsible to produce engineering reports and detailed calculation packages summarizing each engineering assessment.
Qualifications
- M.S. in Civil Engineering with geological emphasis, or equivalent experience.
- 0-2 years post-graduate experience.
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to travel based on business needs.
- Possibility of temporary assignment at locations away from [Company] 's Omaha Office.
- The physical ability to access all areas of a construction site to measure, obtain data, observe operations, test and inspect as required by the design effort.
