Operations Manager

Job Description

  • Eaton Corporation located in Charleston, SC has an opening for an Operations Manager. The Operations Manager is responsible for managing, directing and developing human and capital resources for the safe production of quality products based on customer need. This position requires participative management in problem solving, project management and continuous improvement initiatives with a focus on results in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Cost.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage, develop and motivate direct/indirect employees and front line leadership.
  • Lead the improvement of workplace safety through machine modifications, ergonomic improvements, and development of an incident free culture.
  • Recommend and implement processes and methods for continuous improvement in manufacturing.
  • Achieve quality objectives with improvements in customer quality performance, rework expense, and scrap costs.
  • Establish and maintain optimal manpower to meet customer demand resulting in best in class On Time Delivery.
  • Direct problem solving and coordinate corrective action implementation in production.
  • Manage and control operational expenses to meet financial budgets.
  • Implement and maintain Eaton Lean and Six Sigma initiatives in production.
  • Participate in strategic and profit planning for the plant.

Position Criteria:

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing operations, production planning, and inventory control.
  • Demonstrated computer skills in Office (power point, excel, access).
  • Demonstrated managerial skills including: training & motivating employees
  • Knowledge of CNC Machining is preferred

Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in operations/manufacturing is required.
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience is required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
