Supply Chain/Materials Planning Manager
Job Description

Eaton has approximately 70,000 employees and sells products to customers in more than 150 countries.
- [Company] facility in Searcy, Arkansas (45 minutes north of Little Rock) has an opening for a Materials Planning Manager. This position will be responsible for directing and controlling the movement of materials into and within the plant, along with managing key materials related functions such as purchasing, production scheduling, inventory control and supply planning. This position reports directly to the Searcy Plant Manager.
Other primary responsibilities include:
- Leads plant sales, inventory and operational planning
- Thought leader for synchronization of shop floor layout, production queuing and visual controls
- Co-leader for supplier queuing, part segmentation, and MRP "health checks"
- Balances and coordinates the work loads and responsibilities of the employees within the Materials Planning / Scheduling function to support Plant level metrics in the areas of Financial Performance (overtime efficiency, on-time delivery, top line sales) by leveraging lean principles and plant balance (level loading, ship ahead schedules, etc.)
- Understands the MRP/ERP functions and rules and continuously drives for improvements in the system (usage, accuracy, compliance, etc.) and integration into the manufacturing process
- Provides input, support and guidance regarding the Sales, Inventory, Operating and Planning (SIOP) process and uses to drive improvements into the Materials Planning / Scheduling function
- Manages and reviews inputs (SIOP, cycle-counting, physical inventory, profit planning) and controls (min./max. levels, ROPs, lead times, etc.) of the ordering process to ensure that inventory levels (purchase parts VMI, in-transit, C-Level, consignment inventory, etc.) meet Plant, Division and Corporate expectations
- Models the Eaton ethical conduct policy, the Eaton Values and Philosophy, and complies with all other corporate, plant, and regulatory policies and regulations as applicable
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements):
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering or accounting from a nationally accredited institution
- Minimum 3 years of experience developing and controlling production schedules and inventory levels
- Minimum 3 years of purchasing and forecasting product line structures
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with Oracle or other ERP Systems
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
Position Criteria:
- Experience coordinating, implementing, and continually improving computerized scheduling system.
- Experience coordinating physical inventory
- Experience initiating and monitoring cycle counting procedures to inspect and ensure inventory on-hand accuracy
- Ability to manage receiving, shipping, cycle-counting and material handlers
- Ability to develop subordinates and peers in Lean production management techniques
- Knowledge of managing plant supply chain performance, including quality, cost and on-time delivery performance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration
- Supervisory experience
- Buyer experience
- ERP/MRP experience APICS certification (or completion within 1 year of hire)
- Emphasis on materials and/or inventory management experience
