Surface Mine Planning Engineer

Function

  • Develop large-scale surface mining operations and expansions (international) through mine planning, reserve evaluations, operations support, and special projects.  You will primarily focus on short-term mine planning and equipment optimization on-site at our world-class mine complex in Colombia, South America.  Mine planning and design using computer aided design software to help design a new international surface mining operation, feasibility and acquisition analyses, etc. 

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience directly related to surface mine planning and surface mine engineering support
  • 5+ years’ experience in Coal or Hard Rock Mining Operations
  • Experience estimating productivity on Truck-and-Shovel mining operations
  • Experience designing truck and loader operations
  • Mine and road design experience
  • Experience with MINCOM software or similar package strongly preferred
  • Spanish language skills are helpful, but not required.
  • United States or Colombian citizenship
