Sr. Underground Mine Engineer

Function

  • The position will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and controlling mine engineering, planning, geotechnical services and related functions, including resource and mineral reserve modeling and estimation. Responsible for short and long-term mine planning, cost estimating, budgeting and optimization trade off studies. In addition, responsibilities include design of underground mine development workings, blasting systems, ventilation systems, ground control systems, production stops and mine haulage systems. All the while ensuring a strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in underground hard rock mining
  • Minimum of 2 years on site experience in narrow vein mining & back filling
  • Experience in underhand cut and fill stopping methods
  • Experience in mine ventilation, rock mechanics & ground control techniques
  • Proficient in resource modeling & designing of UG mine development
  • Capable of utilizing latest computer & software technologies such as Microsoft
  • Office products, CAD software, and mining programs such as Vulcan, Surpac,
  • MineSite, Gemcom or Dataminec.
  • Supervisory experience with both technical and non technical personnel
