Senior Geoscientist

[Company] have been challenged by a large international oil company to source a skilled geoscientist to join their growing team in Stavanger. This company are backed by a large international energy group and have invested heavilly in their upstream sector to become one of the most recognised brands in the European energy industry. The company have now positioned themselves as one of the most active operating companies in the exploration scene and seek skilled explorationists to continue this growth.

The successful candidates will be focussing on the continued growth of this company's NCS business and work towards value creation on the existing portfolio of fields and licenses.

Candidates responsibilties will include but are not limited to:


• Contribute with geological/geophysical expertise in a wide variety of projects like exploration rounds, business development opportunities and field developments
• Perform seismic interpretation as part of integrated projects
• Initiate and participate in internal/external geological/geophysical studies like sequence stratigraphy, sedimentology, basin modelling, AvO and Inversion
• Contribute with strong regional geology understanding of the NCS
• Champion and implement geological/geophysical technologies
• Participate in license meetings and work groups, and potentially in license committees
• Generate ideas for further growth and value creation.
• Ideal candidates will have proven experience working on exploration projects on the NCS ideally gained at an operating company. They will have a strong technical background centred around seismic interpretation, stratigraphy, sedimentology, basin modelling and AvO and be capable contributors to license rounds and New Ventures studies. Candidates should have a degree at MSc or PhD level in a geoscience discipline and be able to closely relate this to their work.
