Overview:
Responsible for supporting our Clients Quality Management System for a business division.
Advises operations teams on production and product issues based on customer feedback through investigation, analysis and team leadership to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
Exercises independent judgment with direction from supervisor.

Qualifications:
• Degree or HNC plus additional experience in Engineering, Quality Assurance or Supply Chain Management.
• A strong understanding of APQP plus considerable experience in driving APQP activities, supplier qualification programs, project management.
• Detailed knowledge of standard Quality systems and supplier management requirements.
• Experience with advanced problem solving techniques, 6 sigma tools, corrective action, root cause analysis, CPK, Gage R&R. Yield and general process improvements.
• Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment and/or in the quality field - preferred.
• Fluent in reading technical documents and specifications including GD&T.
• Experience with supplier manufacturability and design tolerance reviews.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite particularity in Excel Power Point & Word.
• Good communications skills, verbal and written. Desired- Certified Six Sigma Black Belt. APQP, 8D problem solving and Lean manufacturing experience. Track record of significant improvement in supplier component quality.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
• Performs Quality Assurance for a business division by performing product test procedures, validating product specifications, performing audits, and leading product reliability improvements via our Clients New Product Introduction program and Continuous Product Improvement programs.
• Develops plans and tools to support quality systems and related processes for a business division.
• The incumbent provides support for quality programs and certifications, as well as Lean Manufacturing and systems implementations.
• Supports business division employees tracking continuous quality improvement projects and a quality scorecard, leading internal quality programs, developing related training programs, conducting internal quality audits and facilitating management reviews.
Job Purpose:
• The APQP Engineer will be responsible to manage & develop a portfolio of suppliers throughout the NPI stages in conjunction with the Global Purchasing commodity teams located globally throughout the organization.
• The primary focus of the role is to develop supplier partnerships to ensure Quality, Service and Cost requirements meet the needs of the NPI programs and continue to achieve timely & successful launches.
• The role will be to work with the site & supply base partners to develop a timely approval of the product meeting all predetermined Goals & targets for QCLDM.

• Reporting into the APQP Leader and working closely with CPPD Project Managers and the Customer SQA you will be tasked with achieving approved PPAP submission (PSW), improved APQP process efficiency, management overview of APQP status and support to supplier development.
• Support design feasibility reviews prior to drawing release to suppliers.
• Hold regular APQP review with suppliers to ensure parts are delivered on time to desired quality.
• Support project core team APQP activity from concept design, through customer PPAP to final PSW approval.
• Perform First Article disposition and make decision on acceptance of dimensional non conformance as to correct the tooling or to revise drawing.
• Plan tool qualification and compile tool qualification report so as to ensure all new tooling are qualified before transferring to the operations.
• Develop processes and systems to improve APQP operation.
• Review drawings to ensure parts are feasible for manufacture at supplier, assembly and will meet customer requirements.
Basic Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm
