Human Resource Representative

Position Description

  • Develop, maintain and administer all Human Resource programs in a plant environment with support of the HR Manager-Atlanta as needed.   Responsible for all HR activities for 3 (three) North Georgia Plant Locations:  Fairmount, Kennesaw and Marble Hill and support of those management teams.    Participates in special HR projects as assigned.   Administers Compensation and Benefits programs including participation in wage surveys and non-exempt and exempt job evaluations including annual Open Enrollment.   Manages annual performance appraisal and merit process.    Advise Plant Management on employee relations, training, compensation, staffing, leave issues.   Works closely with Plant EH&S Managers to ensure environmental/safety training is completed/up to date and employees are made aware of their EH&S responsibilities.   Counsel with employees on benefit, training, career development, compensation, employee relations issues (SNE and hourly) and manage the processes for temporary employees (mfg. and R&D). Conducts employee training for plant specific and corporate programs and benefits.   Ensures compliance with all Federal, State and Local laws and company policies and procedures. Offers training and support to ensure consistency between and among departments/ Managers.   Manage HRIS projects to include performance management and leadership development.   Administrator of the payroll timekeeping system (entering new hires and changes.   Manages employee wellness programs (flu shots, safety glasses, annual biometric screening, new hire physicals, return to work).

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and experience in business administration, Human Resource Management, or similar field/area of study.   
  • 5 - 8 years’ experience as a human resource rep/generalist with experience in a manufacturing environment.   
  • PHR certification (or willingness to pursue) preferred, but not required.   
  • Ability for routine travel each week between and among 3 North GA Plants (all 3 plants visited each week on a rotating schedule).  
  • Must be able to prioritize a varied and heavy workload with multiple locations.  
  • Must be able to work effectively in an environment requiring rapid change and constant multitasking.  
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.   Must possess high proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and HRIS systems and recruiting software preferably People Soft v8.0 and People Fluent. 
  • Work Conditions:  
  • Office Environment (heated and air conditioned). As necessary, works in a dusty plant environment with/around moving and mobile equipment and various chemicals in a variety of indoor/outdoor conditions (heat, cold, moisture).    PPE required when in/around the plant/manufacturing environment including:  hard hat, safety glasses, steel toed shoes, gloves, ear plugs (as posted in the facilities).
