  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Three years related welding experience and/or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Two years minimum of TIG and MIG welding experience, or equivalent expertise.
  • Must pass “TIG” procedures and “flux-core” procedures per ASME code standards.

Responsibilities

  • Weld all pressure vessels in accordance with ASME Code requirements and all units with radiography as part of the customer’s specifications.
  • Lay out and weld to specification all products: code or non-code, standard or non-standard.
  • Train other welders with lesser skills, plus teach productive techniques.
  • Follow all safety guidelines in regards to fellow employees and equipment.
  • Perform operations within time standards.
  • Produce good quality products within prescribed standards.
  • Monitor methods, processes and procedures on a continual basis to ensure departmental goals are being met related to efficiencies, equipment utilization and time usage in order to maintain or improve cost competitiveness.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that interfaces well with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
  • Provide quality in all goods and services delivered to internal and external customers through thorough planning, responsible implementation, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor inventory levels and locations, and work with support staff to ensure the availability of inventory needed to produce goods on schedule and according to customer requirements
  • Provide guidance to temporary personnel.
  • Assist team members with their duties and other administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the department in support of team and divisional goals.
  • Work to and/or help create standard work procedure (SOP).
  • Complete any other duties assigned by supervisor.

  • This position is responsible for welding and/or fabricating components according to work specifications to cost-effectively produce a high-quality product on a timely basis that meets customer requirements.
