An opportunity exists for an experienced and customer focused Contracts Specialist.
You will consult with key internal stakeholders to develop and implement sourcing strategies for the allocated contract portfolio. The strategies will satisfy business outcomes and reduce the total cost of the supply chain through the use of the most appropriate commercial arrangements and implementation of best contracting practice.
You will also be responsible for monitoring the overall contractor performance including HSEC, performance and financial to ensure contract objectives are satisfied. You will conduct financial analysis of tender submissions, contract reviews and ongoing claims and manage contracts using the various Supply systems (GSAP, CCMS and Documentum).
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have tertiary qualifications in Law, Business, Commerce or Supply Chain coupled with several years experience in commercial or contracting management strategies, process and execution (up to AUD50M) within the mining or heavy industry. In addition, the following skills and attributes are essential to this role:
Financial literacy, including ability to analyse financial data and develop models
Excellent document drafting skills including correspondence, contract drafting, justifications and business reports
Strong decision making and problem solving skills
Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills to allow you to build and manage strategic working relationships
Advanced computer skills including a working knowledge of SAP and experience with Microsoft Suite
Sound knowledge of Commercial law principles
