Senior Metallurgist — Solomon

Senior Metallurgist - Solomon FIFO (ex Perth) 8/6 roster

Reporting to the Project Manager for Solomon Development, this role is responsible for specialised metallurgical support for the Solomon Project.  During the next twelve months, the focus of this position will move from design, commissioning, ramp to steady state operations.

Key accountabilities:
  • Form and lead a team charged with delivering metallurgical support for the Solomon Project's transition through ramp up into steady state operations;
  • Indentify inhibitors to Operational performance and implement solutions to rectify;
  • Utilise and manage information systems to provide accurate and timely metallurgical support to Solomon Operations;
  • Working to timelines and reporting on new project possibilities;
  • Liaising with other teams in regards to processing issues and metallurgical testing where required;
  • Report on costs and performance to the Solomon Leadership team on a monthly basis; &
  • Ensure metallurgical costs are managed and controlled daily to ensure compliance with annual forecasts/budgets;
To be considered for this role you will require:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy or a similar field;
  • Previous experience in managing a technical services team;
  • Iron ore wet plant experience is highly desirable;
  • Previous experience in Greenfields and ramp up environments would be advantageous;
  • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy;
  • A high level of commitment to safety; &
  • Current "C" Class WA driver's license.
