Indigenous Careers

We are currently working with a number of clients, including indigenous organisations, who provide civil, construction and contract services to the mining and mining services sector throughout the Pilbara region of WA.

  As a result of strong organic growth and the pending award of upcoming projects, they are seeking expressions of interest from experienced Indigenous candidates (or with extensive experience in working with Indigenous people) across all job types.
 
The successful candidates will be required to demonstrate:

• An awareness of and commitment to all aspects of site safety, including pre-starts, toolbox meetings, JHA’s, etc.
• The ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with all stakeholders, including colleagues, supervisors, other contractors, and clients.
• Relevant qualifications (or substantial completion towards same).
• Some demonstrable experience in civil earthworks and site construction activities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, programs and workplace obligations.
• An affinity and understanding of indigenous people and their culture.

Whilst some experience would be desirable, applicants with a pro-active approach and seeking to make an immediate impact will be given the necessary opportunity, training and support to develop their career; with the opportunity for further training, mentoring and career development.

Depending on the project, a variety of FIFO rosters will be available.  

Local Pilbara residential candidates are also encouraged to apply as DIDO may be available.  

With planning well advanced for the commencement of these projects, this is the ideal time to get in on the ground floor and see a project through until completion.  Additionally, long existing and upcoming long term contracts allow the opportunity to establish a career.  

A competitive salary package commensurate with skills will be negotiated for the successful applicants.
