Site Resident Engineer

Job Description

• Reports to Site Construction Manager / Project Manager
• Immediate Subordinates Discipline Supervisors
• Liaises with Project Team Members, Project Manager, Engineering Manager, Discipline Engineers, Draughting Staff, Section Leaders, Secretaries, Other Consultants, Client Project team, Contractors, Vendors and Suppliers on Technical issues

• Government Certificate of Competency - Mines and Works (Mechanical or electrical)
• Registered or have submitted an application for Registration as a PR Eng, PR Cert Eng of Pr Tech with ECSA

• Must have at least 3 years on mine experience in a shaft / underground environment 
• Must have at least 3 years experience on Mining Projects (study phases / implementation phases)
• Knowledge Mining in a Project environment
• Project Wise, ISO Requirements, Standards and Specification, Basic Labour Relations Skills

Responsibilities

• To carry out duties in a professional and ethical way and to the standards of conduct of the South African association of Consulting Engineers
• Construction monitoring
• Supervision and checking of drawings for compliance and correct revision status
• Review and reconcile Contractors claims
• Interface with site personnel on all Engineering matters regarding claims, Site Instructions and Scope Changes
• Undertake various assignments as requested by the Construction Manager
• Attend meetings such as Project Planning, Project Review, Mont end, Site Inspection, Site Construction, Technical, Quality and Risk Assessment
• Persons employed by the Coal Joint Venture are responsible for ensuring that they act according to agreed procedures and work instructions and to make themselves familiar with all the procedures that relate to their sphere of activities.
