Our client is a leading construction and engineering company with a large focus on delivering high quality projects for the mining and infrastructure sectors. They have operations nationally and have seen considerable growth in the past 5 years. With strong growth in their sector and a full book of upcoming projects they are looking for a Safety manager for their fabrication division.

As the Safety Manager you will help build and develop the safety culture through the company.

As the Safety Manager your main responsibilities will involve:
  • Supporting and developing a culture that focuses on safety as integral to the workplace across all state based projects
  • Reporting on performance, achievements, compliance, incidents, trends and issues
  • Promoting safety & environmental performance at all levels
  • Planning and coordinating safety and environmental audits
  • Proactively influencing effective safety outcomes standards through all projects
  • Review incident reports and participate in high risk investigations
  • Provide and maintain effective training and guidance for staff to ensure compliance with safety systems
  • Mentoring and developing a high performing team of safety professionals
To be considered for this role you will be possess:
  • Tertiary qualifications in OH&S
  • Strong knowledge of legislation
  • 5+ years experience in a Safety Manager role in the heavy manufacturing, construction or mining industries
  • Excellent management, communication & team leading skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and decision making skills
  • Outstanding problem solving, negotiation and people management skills
  • Ability to inspire, coach and mentor
  • Proven ability to provide both an operational and strategic safety approach to large civil infrastructure projects
