Senior Pit Technician

We are looking for a Senior Pit Technician for their open pit Gold mine in the Goldfields region of Western Australia. Following completion of extensive drilling yielding very positive results, we are headed towards a projected first gold pour in June this year. This position operates on a FIFO 2/1 roster (ex Perth only).

Reporting to the Mine Geologist and Mine Surveyor, your key accountabilities are:

• Assist in maintaining the Pit, Hall Roads, Waste Dumps, Tails and Decant, Bores, Water Catchment Dams, Pumps and Fence Lines to ensure a smooth, continual mining process is maintained at all times.
• Ensure that applicable Mining and Environmental and Safety information is accurately recorded.
• Maintain regular and effective communication and feedback with peers, subordinates and superiors.
• Conduct project work as required by the Mining / Geology Superintendent.
• Fulfill all statutory responsibilities in accordance with applicable statutory legislation and regulations.

To be successful in this position, you will have:

• 3+ years experience as a Pit Technician
• Supervisory experience
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Be able to work successfully within a team environment
• Be mechanically minded

You must also be able to pass a pre-employment medical. You must also have or be able to successfully obtain, a Senior First Aid certificate, Oxy Viva and defibrillator accredited training.
