Equity Analyst - Mining & Minerals

Our client is a top tier Investment Bank who are looking for a Mining & Minerals Sell Side Equity Analyst to join them.

Providing analytical support including financial analysis, quantitative modelling and report writing on South African equities, to cover the mining and mineral space.

Responsibilities

Financial analysis
Analysis of financial statements and stock performance
Analysis of industry/sector data, company/consultant reports
Strong modelling skills evident
Attention to detail essential
Contribution to written product - ability to express concisely & effectively in English, needs little guidance
Thinks commercially - strong investment ideas
Understands the broking industry
Telephoning and presenting to clients
Attending road shows and client one-on-one meetings, both individually and as part of the team
Central contact for other divisions, working closely with specialist sales team
Participate in Global Team conferences/calls
Ability to co-ordinate research effort for team
Excellent communicator at all levels
Shows strong initiative, pro-activity and commitment to team product

Qualifications And Experience

Qualified CA with prior industry knowledge desirable - 2 years plus
Excellent financial understanding, strong accountancy desired (MBA/CFA preferable)
All Microsoft Office - high volume of Excel usage and experience required, Internet, Reuters, Datastream, Factset
Understands mining industry
