Operations Manager on Mine

OPERATIONS / PRODUCTIONS MANAGER FOR WELL ESTABLISHED MINE OF OVER 60 YEARS IN LIMPOPO

  • Opencast Mine / Team size of about 80
  • Includes house on mine and benefits and performance based bonus

Minimum Requirements

  • BTech Engineering - Chemical, Mechanical or Mining
  • Experience in  team management ESSENTIAL
  • Experienced Production/Operations Manager  with more than 10 years experience on a mine
  • Knowledge of mine planning and management including costing and budgeting
  • Mine Managers Certificate of Competency - preference

Job Specification

Competencies:

  • Ability to manage a mining operations or production
  • Excellent people management and team skills
  • Experience in Union negotiations
  • Operation skills such as general management of team, computer literacy, negotiation and conflict handling.
  • Leadership skills including mentoring, coaching and strategy planning and direction.

Functions

  • People Management of the entire process to create a performance driven culture.
  • Ensure effective communication with all relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure that the Business Plan is achieved through effective planning, resources allocation and co-ordination.
  • Ensure Legal compliance to protect the interests of the Company and create a safe workplace
