Due to continual growth there is now an opportunity for a Road Rail Fitter in the Hither Green area. Working for the UK's largest rail engineering and services provider you will be an apprentice trained fitter with experience in a heavy plant engineering environment.
Currently in a Plant Fitter role we are particularly interested in applications from trained plant fitters from the following industries, rail plant, construction plant, REME, marine, power, quarrying and mining and large commercial vehicles. You will have experience of construction plant & access equipment and be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Rated Capacity Indicator systems.
The Plant Fitter role requires working on a fleet of Road Rail excavators, dozers and access equipment (Komatsu, Case, O&K, Mercedes Unimog, Skyjack & Niftylift) and working as part of a multi-skilled maintenance team, maintaining Road Rail Plant and Equipment on-site and at the depots. You will also assist with developing initiatives to improve the quality, productivity, reliability and availability of the fleet.
Necessary specialist training on Road Rail conversions and specific systems will be provided for those with relevant qualifications and experience. For this role it's essential that you hold a current driving licence and have the ability to work on your own initiative should the need arise. Some nights and weekend cover duties will be involved.
