Business Development Manager, Quarrying & Mining industries

Our client is a progressive and award winning company supplying the Global recycling, quarrying and mining industries with innovative aggregate processing solutions.

They are now looking to strengthen our team with the addition of the following position:

Job Purpose:

Reporting directly to the Sales Director and based in the local market, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for growing existing customer sales throughout the nominated territory (both directly and through the growth of solid partnerships), as well as closing existing opportunities and developing new leads together with generating new business.

Responsibilities:

Sales / Aftersales:

• Attract and retain suitable business partners and agents to promote and sell the product range, this will include identification, setup, management and support of local Distributor/s and/or Agents to facilitate the achievement of the Sales Targets for the designated Territory.
• Directly manage the designated Company ‘Priority Accounts’ including ALL local PLC’s and large private customers.
• Facilitate the preparation of Tender submissions, in local language for all major Projects
• Identification, profiling, analysis and implementation of new business opportunities in designated territory.
• Coordinate and follow-up on existing leads and generate new leads in an effective and structured manner.
• Demonstrate the Technical capability (features and benefits) of the products to potential customers, facilitating in-ward factory and site visits.
• Detail pricing and delivery information with customers and liaise with sales order processing staff to ensure that all orders are promptly received and handled.
• Assist with after sales queries, investigate customer complaints, and ensure that they are dealt with to the customers’ satisfaction.
• Liaise with local authorities and organisations representing the mineral resource and recycling industries to promote the products.

Strategy:

• Contribute to the ongoing planning and development of the Company’s sales and marketing and business development strategies for the region.
• Contribute to new product/service development, promotion/distribution, customer care and the Company’s approach to quality through the presentation of customer feedback and market research.
• Provide regular information to assist management with decision making, including competitor profiles and market analysis.
• Make recommendations to management on business development activity and on how the Company can improve the marketability of its products.

Person Specification

Qualification/Attainment

• Good level of secondary education with high degree of numeracy and literacy
• Relevant Experience
• A minimum of 6 years Sales management experience
• Experience in managing teams
• Experience in establishing and maintaining successful customer partnerships
• Experience of and existing relationships with the typical Customer set (including operators, organisations and authorities within the Industry)

Special Aptitudes


• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills
• Well developed analytical and problem solving skills
• Computer literate
• Multilingual (Fluent English plus German)
