Senior Accountant- Lead

Description:

  • [Company] is seeking a qualified Senior Accountant for its Irving, TX location.
  • The position of Senior Accountant analyzes and maintains a complete and accurate general ledger, and prepares managerial and financial reports. The Senior Accountant contributes to the timeliness and accuracy of the monthly, quarterly and annual closings of the corporate general ledger.  They also prepare consolidated and division level internal financial statements in accordance with IFRS/US GAAP. The Accountant II will also respond to accounting questions and communicate the responses to other functional areas of[Company] .

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Financial and operational transaction processing in General Ledgers for business line operations.
  • Participate in accurate and timely closing of General Ledgers on a monthly basis.
  • Administer approved accounting practices and policies for operations to ensure compliance.
  • Provide support to operations related to financial reporting and transactional processing.
  • Prepare managerial and financial reports.
  • Respond to questions and issues and communicate responses to operations and other functional areas.
  • Work closely with other functions within the SSC groups, Corporate, the Regions and local operations to standardize business processes and participate in implementing a shared services center environment in North America.
  • Provide technical accounting advice on accounting matters
  • Review, investigate and resolve significant accounting and reporting issues.
  • Deliver results individually and as a key team member in a fast paced, high performance culture.
  • Train, develop and mentor staff accountants including reviewing work and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Present and implement new processes effectively to operational personnel and administrative staff, including training and providing reference tools for the field.
  • Take the leadership role when starting “ad hoc” projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
  • CPA is preferable with solid understanding of GAAP and IFRS
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and must be able to communicate effectively with all levels within the company.
  • A proven track record in meeting deadlines, and working collaboratively as part of a team are essential.
  • Critical thinking and strong analytical skills.
  • Solid Excel skills
  • SAP experience is preferred
