Brief Description
- This function is responsible for the on-going support of the global ERP system based on the Oracle relational database environment. The incumbents have divided duties to insure that all aspects are fully supported.
Detailed Description
- Serve as a DBA administrator for Oracle databases for OLTP and Data Warehouse Applications developed in house.
- The responsibility includes installing, configuring, managing and maintaining Oracle servers 10g and above in coordination with other global support personnel
- Support BI Apps environment including OBIEE, Informatica and DAC.
- Support SQL Server databases when required.
- Assist in resolution of both database & global applications as necessary with global support teams when required. Monitor and proactively respond to system difficulties
- Perform SQL tuning and verify that databases performing optimally
- Produce periodic statistical performance reports on the over-all processing environment
Job Requirements
- Eight (8) plus years
- Bachelor degree preferred in Computer Science /w strong database theory highly desired. Additionally, continued course work in specific database support roles is highly desired.
- Experienced with relational database philosophy, design, architecture, and implementation. Be proficient in fine tuning the environment for performance across a global computing platform. Proficient in Oracle DBA activities. Experience in supporting BI Apps architecture ( OBIEE, Informatica, DAC ). Knowledge of SQL Server is plus.
Additional Details
- The incumbents in this position must possess excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills. They must be motivated to support the global environment on a 24 X 7 basis.
