Business Unit

• Wilkins, a Zurn Company, is part of the Water Management Group within Rexnord LLC. Wilkins manufactures an extensive line of plumbing, fire protection, waterworks, and irrigation water control products ranging from pressure reducing valves and backflow preventers to thermostatic mixing valves.

Brief Description

• Reporting to the Materials Director, the Purchasing Agent is responsible for coordinating activities involved with procuring goods and services, such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies.
• This position will be located at Wilkins in Paso Robles, CA.

Key Accountabilities

• Communicates with existing vendors or source from new suppliers to purchase parts/materials per forecast and Kanban requirements keeping within the set parameters of price, availability, and delivery schedule.
• Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.
• Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts.
• Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with quality control personnel, production, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
• Represents purchasing as a representative in one of the production value streams to maintain excellent SQDC.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
• 2-5 years related experience.
