Job Description: Event Marketing Internship
- Empire Southwest is a third-generation family owned Caterpillar dealership founded in 1950. Empire sells, rents and services machinery and power generation equipment to clients in the construction, mining and agriculture industries in Arizona, Southeast California and Northern Mexico. Empire’s Marketing Department is looking for a part-time team member to assist with event coordination, online event assistance and marketing department support.
Job Summary:
- This is an exciting internship opportunity within one of Arizona’s top 10 privately held companies. The desired applicant must be highly organized, enthusiastic, motivated, and be able to work independently with instruction. The position provides director support to the Project Lead for complete event coordination from creating invitations to attendee follow-up activities. The role will support complete event coordination from scoping an event thru creating invitations and attendee follow-up activities. Duties may include collateral management, organization of event attendees and registration, organizing vendors and suppliers, attend events, graphic design support, on site event coordination, administrative support to Project Lead, lead generation and attendee follow-up activities.
Essential Functions:
- Primary support to the Project Lead
- Event scoping, arranging locations and necessary equipment, coordinating volunteers, detailed event outlines and communication plans
- Vendor and supplier coordination, securing contracts and communicating and adhering to deadlines
- Online posting of events and invitation management
- Registration process using multiple channels
- Graphic Design editing of existing collateral files
- Event metric reporting
- Travel to events and work event
- Others tasks as assigned
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to perform the job duties needed.
- Must have strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.
- Good communications and presentation skills.
- Ability to work with various personalities.
- Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies and use of all required safety equipment.
- Must have acceptable attendance to meet all company standards and requirements.
Education And Experience:
- Junior or Senior in college
- Enthusiasm for marketing and working with clients and vendors
- Phone skills, verbal communication skills
- Good with people
- Must have a good command of grammar, spelling and punctuation
- Detail-oriented with a drive toward quality and project completion
- Demonstrates adaptability and accountability
- A positive attitude is a necessity
- Must have experience with Microsoft Office products (MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator experience preferred
