Job Description
Applicable Pay Rate: 30.85 – 27.06 – 24.51/ hour.
- This position primarily provides electrical and instrumentation maintenance services for field process units, including instrumentation and electrical systems such as process instrumentation, valves, motors, motor controls and power distribution.
Required Skills
- Requires frequent walking, standing, stooping/bending, climbing stairs and ladders, kneeling, lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds, reaching above and below shoulder level; and occasional sitting, lifting 50 pounds from knee to shoulder high, crawling, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds, and use of keyboard/computer and test equipment.
- Requires continuous use of tools and occasional turning of valves and use of foot controls. Over 50% of the incumbent’s shift is spent outdoors. This position is continuously exposed to noise; frequently exposed to dirt, dust, chemicals, extreme heat and cold; and occasionally exposed to vibration, poor ventilation and confined areas. Will be required to wear dust masks, respirators and full face Scott Air Paks when necessary. Frequently requires working in high climbing areas on grating, ladders, scaffolding and other areas requiring use of safety equipment and may involve work at heights from 10 to 150 feet. Requires good finger dexterity, accurate color vision and the ability to speak. Must have the ability to analyze data and reports, implement recommendations and follow verbal and written instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively with others and present information in a clear, concise manner.
Required Experience
- This position requires a working knowledge of electrical drawings, troubleshooting and repair of three phase alternating current circuits, solid state drives, microprocessor-based programmable controllers, instrumentation and control systems, as well as an understanding of the National Electric Code, at a level obtained through completion of an Associates of Applied Science degree in Electrical, Electronic or Instrumentation Technology program. A minimum of one to five years related experience preferred but not required. In addition, previous experience with switchgear, motor controls, and motor repair is preferred. Successful applicants will be expected to obtain journeyman electrician classification.
