Chemical/Environmental Engineer
Overview:
- We're looking for a motivated entry level self-starter and effective team player with chemical engineering background. This position will involve a diversity of assignments in a growing practice area.
Responsibilities:
- Position requires 0 to 2 years of environmental process and conceptual design engineering experience supporting projects involving site investigations, remediation, regulatory compliance and environmental permitting for groundwater, soil, soil vapor, air and/or waste.
- Initial work will include the technical support for projects in the areas of air pollution control and permitting, air pollution control device cost-effectiveness evaluations (e.g. BACT), environmental reporting, environmental compliance auditing, wastewater/storm water permitting and possibly process safety. Other work may include management of site investigation/remediation including conducting feasibility studies, evaluation of remedial technologies, design and implementation of in-situ remedial approaches, oversight of operations and maintenance of remediation equipment/installations, remedial system optimization, facility compliance evaluations, emissions calculations, regulatory applicability reviews (review/interpretation of environmental regulations), engaging staff in field data collection and interpretation, permit preparation, and completion of monitoring reports. Experience with management of subcontractors, scheduling, and agency negotiations a significant plus.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is required. Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required. Computer proficiency with CAD, Air Dispersion Modeling and Microsoft Project preferred. OSHA 40-hr. HAZWOPER training preferred but not required.
