From design to project delivery, our client has built a reputation as the preferred EPCM for large scale rail projects to ensure the efficient and reliable movement of bulk commodities & freight in Pilbara. Delivering the largest and most challenging rail projects in Australia our client is experiencing growth and a success rate of new project awards that is unrivalled in the industry.
This growth is indicative of global demand for Australian Iron Ore & as a result the scope of work will varied and diverse. As the Senior Manager you will be charged with the responsibility that encompasses the overall functional coordination of quality assurance and risk within the rail project team. This will also include the ongoing improvement of quality business management systems and processes throughout. This includes meeting the requirements of AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management Systems. Deployment of and compliance to these systems across the business will be a key responsibility among many others.
Reporting to the Programme Director the ideal candidate must be client focused and demonstrate a commitment to compliance with a proven track record of meeting applicable performance indicators.
With this role being part of various multibillion dollar projects we require you to be highly experienced in a similar role and be able to meet the following requirements:
- Liaises with third party certification bodies to ensure audits and corrective actions are implemented.
- Ensures that business risks are identified and that appropriate mitigation strategies are in place.
- Review and amend the system procedures to ensure changes in operating environment are adequately captured and controlled.
- Ensure the development of a risk based compliance process for the programme,
- Provide a focus for the improvement of the programme by the use of the Australian Business Excellence Framework and all aspects of continual improvement.
- Coordinate resources for records management within the project group.
- Checks and authorises programme quality plans and business unit / joint venture audit schedules.
- Ensures adherence to scheduled audits by programme QA staff
- Interfaces with QC staff and liaises with suppliers to ensure quality of goods and services provided and that appropriate quality records are identified and collated.
- Liaises with the client to identify and monitor quality requirements and perceptions.
- Ensures the development and implementation of training related to quality assurance and business improvement initiatives and programs and ensures and effective outcome.

If this is of interest to you, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Formal training in quality assurance, business improvement methodologies
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Quality assurance management role.
- Approved auditing qualification and experience in facilitating and conducting audits.
- Detailed knowledge of AS/NZS 4801:2001, AS/NZS ISO 14001:2004 and AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000.
- Experience in project execution in the resource or engineering industries.
- Management and leadership experiences, including direct line supervision.
- Effective communication & computer literacy
