Senior Resource Geologist

The Role 
Reporting to the General Manager Resources, the Senior Resource Geologist will ensure mineral resource estimates are conducted to industry best practice and supports the organisation’s strategy across all five of our gold operations. This corporate office based role will be integral to ensuring joint ore reserve committee (JORC) compliant resource estimates throughout the company as well as supporting exploration and development 
projects across the board.  
  
The successful person will also be responsible for assisting the General Manager in ensuring all site support and training of personnel at operational sites, as well as continuous improvement. This is a senior role in our organisation, where you will also be responsible for geological model peer reviews and the mentoring of site resource geologists in resource estimation processes.

To be successful    
To be considered for this role you must have the ability to demonstrate your experience/qualifications in the following areas:-  

• Peer review of new resource estimates generated within the organisation to ensure JORC compliance and industry best practice 
• Reviewing external resource work for due diligence (potential acquisitions) 
• Generation of JORC compliant resource estimates where required 
• Liaison with exploration and development groups 
• Liaison with senior site personnel to gauge training requirements 
• Aid in the generation of exploration conceptual geological models 
• Technical support to Site Resource Geologists 
• Design training programs to address deficits and build strengths 
• Introduce industry best practice in optimisation of resource techniques and interpretation processes 
• Tertiary qualifications in Geology and at least 5-7 years of experience, with at least 5 being spent in resource estimation  
• Strong exposure to complex metaliferous mining in both underground and open cut environments (strength in gold projects desirable) 
• Proficiency in Surpac, Vulcan and Micromine Software packages
