CITIC Pacific Mining is developing the Sino Iron Project, a world class, large-scale magnetite iron ore project located at Cape Preston, 100km south west of Karratha in Western Australia. The approximate $5 billion project has a current mine life of 25 years and is the largest magnetite project under construction in Australia, and the first to include large scale downstream processing.
The project involves construction of significant infrastructure including a magnetite concentrator, pellet plant, port facilities, a combined cycle power station, and a large desalination plant.
The Opportunity
CITIC Pacific Mining is currently recruiting for a highly experienced Construction Manager for our fixed plant concentrator at our Cape Preston based Sino Iron Project. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in the development of our huge magnetite project. This is a 2 year fixed term contract position, and a 3/1 FIFO roster from Perth will apply.
The Purpose of the Role
Reporting directly to the Deputy Director – EPC, this role is responsible for the successful construction of the concentrator plant and its associated infrastructure such as conveyors, magnetic separators, thickeners and mills. You will manage the interface between contractors to ensure all work complies with statutory and regulatory requirements and ensure all work is completed in accordance with Australian Standards.
The Requirements
We are seeking applications from highly experienced candidates with significant exposure to construction activities in heavy industry and large projects. You will be able to manage multiple projects and multiple people on a daily basis whilst maintaining your overriding commitment to health and safety.
Highly advanced communication skills, people management and project management skills are essential.
• A current WA Manual Drivers licence is an essential requirement
• A current Construction White card is essential
• A copy of all current qualifications / licences must be provided at the time of interview.
