While there is the possibility that the vacancy may still be active, it is most likely that it has been filled or cancelled; otherwise it would be on CareerMine still.

This is a large bulk handling and exporting facility, with a total storage capacity in excess of 500 000 tons, and consists of a mixing plant, weighing equipment, and approximately 3.5 kilometres of conveyer belts linking various areas of the plant.

Reporting to the Mechanical Foreman, the incumbent will be responsible for the following:
  • Attending to preventative plant maintenance and breakdowns of conveyor belts, screw mixers, and general pneumatic and hydraulic systems (including rigging related tasks for equipment less than five tons)
  • Performing ship-loading duties such as panel operator, etc
  • Ship loading is a twenty-four hour operation when in progress and therefore involves shift work
  • Carrying out project work and plant modification as and when required; required to be on standby on a rotational basis approximately once in every five weeks.
  • The successful candidate will be a South African national with a Matric, recognised trade certificate from a reputable trade testing institution, three to five years post trade test experience in a factory or mining environment, and a code EB drivers licence.
