The Role
Reporting to the Mine Manager on site we are looking for a dynamic suitably experienced individual to join
our Mt Carlton operation in the role of Superintendent Geologist. The Superintendent Geologist is
responsible for leading the mine geology functions of the Mt Carlton operation to safely exploit the resource
to budgeted outcomes, you will also have the rare opportunity to develop the Mt Carlton “in Mine” and
“Near Mine” resource to sustainably value add the asset. Direct reports for the position will include the Mine
Geologist and Pit Technicians. The position is newly created and represents a fantastic opportunity to join a
progressive and dynamic mid–tier miner that will offer the successful applicant the chance to be part of an

To be Successful
The Superintendent Geologist must be self-motivated and a self-starter. The incumbent must also have the
ability to communicate effectively with persons in all levels of the organisation. Leadership and mentoring is
considered to be of the highest importance with effectively filling this role. All work must be completed to a
high standard and incorporate sound geological practice. Being a lateral thinker and is always looking for a
better way to do things is crucial to the position.
The Superintendent Geologist must have the following experience;
- At least 10 to 12 years’ experience at operating mine sites with a minimum of 5 years associated
- with open pit mining,
- A proven track record in a similar role on a mine or with a consulting group,
- Ability to conduct JORC code reporting of reserves and resources relevant to the style of
- mineralisation and type of deposit at Mt Carlton,
- Advanced user of Surpac geostats and modelling modules would be advantageous
