My client, based in Kliprivier, is a large manufacturer of modular buildings. The purpose of this position is to develop profitable sales of site erected buildings and camps in Africa and has a specific focus on mining, construction and engineering projects.

Job Description

  • Actively solicit new and repeat business
  • Achieve sales targets
  • Conduct sales calls in South Africa and other African countries
  • Establish and maintain a supply of qualified sales prospects, which have a good probability of supporting the sales targets
  • Respond to client requests quickly and ensure communication is maintained
  • Qualify prospective sales and prepare bid-no-bid documents for review
  • On qualified sales, determine the requirements and with assistance from colleagues and other departments, manage the submission of proposals and tenders
  • Compile a Bill of Quantities using information from various departments and standard specifications
  • Maintain momentum in preparing proposals and make sure deadlines are met
  • Present completed proposals for internal review prior to submission
  • Establish the company as a trusted advisor with key clients
  • Develop plans for repeat business with clients

Minimum Requirements

  • Commerce or Engineering degree, recently graduated
  • 3-5 years industrial sales or marketing experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Travel into Africa frequently
  • Must be competent in MS Excel
