Senior Contracts Manager

Required to be appointed:

• Minimum Educational Level – National Higher Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management / Purchasing Management / Logistic Management
• Advanced Microsoft Office Literacy (Excel, Power Point, Word) 
• High Level of English Proficiency
• Ability to Liaise with External 3rd Party Service Providers and Senior / Line Management Officials
• Minimum of 5 years Experience as a Contracts Manager
• Code EB (8) Vehicle License
• Medical Certificate of Fitness

Advantageous:

• BCOM – Law
• Experience within the Coal / Mining Industry
• Project Management Skills and Qualification

Role Profile

Responsibilities:

• Ensures that contracts are established and managed in terms of management systems, processes, policies, procedures, standards and resources. 
• To ensure efficient supply and delivery of goods and services to the various Collieries
• To secure contracting sources for needed services and materials through formal contracts
• Management and maintenance of existing contracts through effective systems
• Coordination and ensure scope of work are aligned and fit requirements of contract and service
• Issuing of expression of interests
• Coordination of tender processes and prepare relevant evaluations for senior management
• Coordination and ensure timeous procurement processes for contracts
• Drafting of contracts and contracts for approval
• Ensure contract approval process and contract signage are aligned with framework
• Fulfilment of all audit requirements and audit trail of documentation
• Ensure that commercial risks in terms of contracts are identified and managed
• Ensure that legal risks are mitigated by means of sound contracts that bind parties and which dictate terms and conditions (including Health and Safety Risks)
• Resolve all commercial issues through liaison with Operations, Procurements, Vendor Management, Technical Experts, Suppliers (Externally) and Inventory Management
• Identify and communicate any bottlenecks with regards to commercial process
• Identify business synergies throughout operations
• Identify business improvement opportunities to ensure adherence to complex goals and objectives
• Be able to analyse, identify all risks and compare contracts with a similar nature of service
• Interpret, analyse and interrogate increases requested by comparing to indices and market knowledge
