Project Manager - IT and Mining

This international consultancy requires a group of IT Project Managers with a background in the Mining industry to join their growing team.

Requirements:

• Project management of the Enterprise and Business Solution Provision projects of which the individual scopes will be provided per project

The Project Manager in general is expected to:

• The project manager needs to ensure that the project objectives and deliverables are successfully delivered through the management of the PMBOK knowledge areas.
• Ensure adequate and comprehensive People Change Management, Knowledge transfer and continuous learning of and to staff during the project execution
• Managing the scope of the Programmes and Projects, the required vendor contracts and physical interaction.
• Ensure project delivery according to agreed time lines, quality and budget.
• Scope and Issue management.
• Communication and Change Management.
• Provide a signed off Project Charter, Business Case and other relevant formal Project Documentation.
• Reporting to project steering committee.
• Compilation, preparation and presentation of documentation and reports to clients and others.
• Management of project team.
• Post implementation, project closure and handover to operations.

• At least 8 - 10 years experience in Project Management
• Operational and management involvement in the IT and Mining industry
• Have a track record of on time, on budget and to specification delivery of projects
• Know the PMBOK Project Methodology
• Competent in working with EWPM, MS Projects 2010
• Have formal Project Management qualifications, NQF Level 8

You will be required to have or get:

• Own transport, as it will be required to travel to business units (South Africa based)
• A valid Code Eight (8) driver s license
• Certificate of Fitness
• Candidate must be willing to work in the full Mining Area, including the Plant, open-pit and underground environments
