Technical Buyer (Supply Chain)

Description Of The Job:

To select source of supply for RFQ’s as well as negotiating, placing and expediting Purchase Orders for materials and services for the company.

Minimum Requirements

• Qualified artisan with experience in the marine environment
• 3 – 5 years procurement experience
• In depth knowledge of Marine Mining processes and material requirements, class requirements and statutory marine regulations

Key Performance Areas:

• Receives, verifies and actions approved purchase requisitions for the purchase of spare parts, material and supplies
• Identifies and selects appropriate sources of supply
• Sends out Requests for Quotations (RFQ’s)
• Performs technical and commercial evaluation of quotes received in consultation with end users
• Prepares purchase orders based on quotes analysis and end user input
• Negotiate trade terms and discount structures with vendors
• Deliver cost savings
• Expedite transactions to ensure delivery within promised delivery dates
• Establishes and maintains professional relationships with stakeholders (incl. vendors/suppliers, customers, team)
• Monitor price and other market movements
• Administration (including but not limited to updating and maintenance of procurement and tender documents)
• Adheres to OHSAS and operational Policies and Procedures
