Purchasing Officer (Supply Chain)

Description Of The Job:

To select source of supply for RFQ’s as well as negotiating, placing and expediting Purchase Orders for materials and services for the company.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • Relevant Diploma or Certificate in Supply Chain Management
  • 3 – 5 years purchasing experience in a mining or engineering Supply Chain environment

Key Performance Areas:

  • Places and expedites Purchase Orders for materials and services
  • Selects source of supply for Request for Quotations (RFQ’s)
  • Negotiate trade terms and discount structures with vendors
  • Deliver cost savings
  • Expedite transactions to ensure delivery within promised delivery dates
  • Monitor price movements
  • Adheres to OHSAS and operational Policies and Procedures
