- The Shawnee, OK facility is Eaton’s Center of Excellence for the machining and assembly of hydraulic motors and hydraulic motor components, used to power both agricultural and construction equipment.
- The ideal candidate for this opportunity will possess a Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred) in a related or supportive major and have a minimum of 2 years experience in supervision and/or managing people. Additionally this candidate must aid in the establishment and maintenance of manufacturing processes to produce products, specifying and selecting equipment and methods which ensure the highest quality and cost effective products possible as well as possessing the ability to work with Product Engineering, Sales and Marketing to grow product sales. Experience in a manufacturing environment and inter-relationship with other areas is required and includes advanced knowledge of machine feeds and speeds, metal properties and high precision tolerance. The Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor position requires advanced knowledge of and ability to work on several projects at once and possess the ability to establish and change priorities as conditions dictate. The ideal candidate must also have the ability to communicate and work closely with employees at all levels. Additionally the ideal Engineering Supervisor must be able to mentor junior engineers and be willing and able to work weekends and off-shifts as needed.
Responsibilities Include:
- Coordination of manufacturing and machinery feasibility of new and/or existing products and the implementation of cost effective machining methods. Estimating manufacturing costs of new products, including the procurement of CNC machinery, tooling, and gauging.
- Coordination and direction of CNC machine selection, cost justification, and interviewing of suppliers, machine run offs, and the approval of machining capability of new capital equipment.
- Provide technical assistance and aid in the training and development of machine cell technicians in machining and metal cutting methods and processes.
- Participation in design reviews of product drawings, and making suggested changes as needed.
- Appraise performance, deciding salary increases and recommending employment status of personnel.
- Acting as a technical resource, training and developing lower level engineers.
- Providing technical leadership in the selection, design, development and installation of cost effective manufacturing processes and techniques.
- Lead product growth team activities and projects for current products and new product development.
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing or Machining is required.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Minimum 2 years supervisory/management or leadership experience is required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the establishment and maintenance of manufacturing processes to produce products
- Experience in specifying and selecting equipment and methods which ensure the highest quality and cost effective products possible
- Six Sigma Black/Green Belt certification
Experience in new product development
Advanced knowledge of machine feeds and speeds, metal properties and high precision tolerance.
Ability to work several projects at once and establish and change priorities as conditions dictate.
