Are you our next Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis?

• We are currently seeking a Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis for our Plymouth, MN location. The Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis will be responsible for directing and leading the forecasting, budgeting and analysis related to financial performance and decision support.  This person will assist the Vice President, Financial Planning and Reporting in providing financial leadership and decision support to senior management on various strategic business initiatives.

What will you do?

• Financial Planning and Analysis:  Function as a key partner to the business with responsibility for financial leadership and decision support. Direct the financial planning process and assist the VP of Financial Planning and Reporting with providing financial planning and analysis expertise on all operational and strategic initiatives. Provide financial modeling of potential M&A and due diligence analysis. Evaluate and if necessary challenge the economics of capital projects and other investment opportunities.  Prepare analysis of capital projects, post implementation. Provide monthly analysis of financial results, including financial reviews with the business segments. Evaluate related processes for best practice solutions. Challenge the business and provide forward thinking approach to business solutions which increase profitability and maximize cash flow.
• Budgeting/Forecasting:  Direct the review, analysis and presentation of the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes. Review and analyze the preparation, tracking and monitoring of actual performance versus budget and forecast. Direct the preparation of reports summarizing expected results to senior management. Challenge the business to ensure the budgets/forecasts are set aggressively, yet realistically. Prepare forecast “outlooks as needed based on changing business conditions. Evaluate related processes for best practice solutions – better ways to utilize SAP in the forecasting and budgeting process.
• Employee Development:  Lead, develop and coach employees in order to retain and expand talent through focused attention and effort.  Provide timely and constructive feedback on a regular basis to ensure employees have a clear understanding of their work, roles and the business. Manage performance issues when necessary. Work with employees on their career development plans.
• Special Projects:  Complete “ad hoc” projects as requested by senior leadership.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required. MBA preferred.
• CPA preferred.
• 8+ years of experience at increasing levels of financial planning and analysis responsibilities and scope, most of which should have been with a large, SEC-reporting public company.  This experience should include 3+ years at the manager level.
• Significant experience with discounted cash flow modeling and with M&A activities, including due diligence analysis.
• Track record of building a high performing team through effective recruiting, development, motivation, and retention of highly motivated and skilled professionals.
• Experience in the financial planning and analysis area of an international chemical manufacturing and/or mining company is a definite plus; however, any product-based experience in a similarly scaled entity is acceptable.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
• Experience/knowledge of SAP preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
