Are you our next Continuous Improvement Lead?
- We are currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Lead for our New Wales, Florida location. The purpose of this position is to assist in the development and sustainability of a continuous improvement culture within a Phosphate Concentrates or Mining Operation with direction from the Continuous Improvement Manager. Manage assessment, prioritization and execution of continuous improvement projects which meet yearly site objectives for overall continuous improvement set during budgeting. As a Continuous Improvement Lead, you will review site financials, Key Performance Indicators and strategic planning initiatives to insure the envisioned environment is met. Deploy continuous improvement tools (Lean, 5S, Six Sigma, Waste, Workout, etc.) and site wide change management initiatives (ROIC Waves, and other). Transfer the information and improvements to other facilities through charters organized by the Center for Innovation and Excellence (CIE).
Currently recruiting for multiple positions.
- Lead the facility through medium to long-term strategic thinking. Provide strategic insight into the facilities progression and placement of personnel. Provide thought partnering for the CI manager and Department Superintendents. Provide coaching and counseling throughout the facility hierarchy. Act as a mentor for the CI staff.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and prioritize improvement opportunities with the management team. Manage activities with leaders across other sites and CIE to optimize overall Mosaic Phosphates CI path and output. Manage the project portfolio, reporting status and benefits of projects in conjunction with the management team.
- Assess and oversee the optimization of the facility performance management system to improve plant metrics, cadence, systems, reliability, engagement, safety, and quality, Manage and report the performance management specifics to the facility management team including metric generation, meeting cadence, meeting effectives (including dialogues).
- Mentor employees to realize benefits from all continuous improvement initiatives. Act as a change agent to the site. Manage risk, issues and participate in the removal of barriers to ensure completion of continuous improvement milestones on task and budget.
- Assist formal and informal change managers and enablers to optimize the ability of the site to effectively implement change at the optimal pace and sustainability.
- Assist in designing new procedures and methods for operational processes. Utilizing projects charters with deliverables, will work with site leaders/change integration employees to identify, modify and sustain desired changes including reducing waste and improving efficiencies.
- Assist in development, management, monitoring and retargeting of KPI’s for the site and local teams. Observe, assess and give feedback on daily performance dialogs and meeting cadence to improve site performance. Other KPI changes could include alignment of scorecards, financials, EDGE goals, staff development and training to reduce waste And improve efficiencies per budget expectations.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Technical/Business related discipline required.
- Minimum 7+ years’ experience; demonstrated leadership and continuous improvement experience with an understanding of the dynamics of interpersonal relationships and statistical methodologies.
- Must possess solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be capable of giving and receiving honest feedback.
- Experience creating and executing Continuous Improvement activities that drive organizational results and change.
- Formal training in Change Management, Continuous Improvement (i.e., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizan, Workout), and Performance Management.
- Significant experience in two or more of the following areas: statistical analysis, 8-step problem solving, asset management, cost/life cycle analysis, maintenance/reliability, industrial process systems. Expertise in all of these areas may not be required as needs will be assessed against the capabilities of the CI staff
- Working knowledge of Microsoft MS Office Suite, familiarity with plant operations software (i.e., PI, OIS and MOIS) and statistical analysis software.
- Very strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills (without authority), with ability to use fact-based and well-thought-out arguments to challenge all levels or change behavior/techniques as required.
- Ability to hold performance dialogues and identify root-causes of problems with all levels of the organizations. Drives to actionable outcomes and follows up on results.
- Proficiency in training, communication, presentations skills and development of materials.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
