- [Company] is seeking an enthusiastic, entry-level hydrogeologist to join our Denver, Colorado team.
Job Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will support existing projects and proposal efforts in the areas of hydrogeology and groundwater engineering.
- Duties range from groundwater modeling and data analysis to field data collection, geologic logging, well installation and water sampling.
- Groundwater modeling includes analytical and numerical models ranging from conceptual models to regional, calibrated models in both saturated and unsaturated zones.
- Projects typically involve permitting, baseline studies, operational support, and reclamation/remediation for the mining, oil and gas, and solid waste industries.
Job Requirements:
- Masters Degree in Geology, Geochemistry, Geological Engineering or related field, with an emphasis in quantitative analysis and a focus in Hydrogeology.
- Candidate must have a strong desire and ability to create, calibrate, and interpret quantitative models of subsurface fluid flow and contaminant transport.
- The successful candidate will also participate in field projects (e.g., geologic logging, water quality sampling, and hydrogeologic testing in a variety of environments).
- Good technical writing skills required.
- Willingness to travel necessary.
- Experience in using MODFLOW (text files and either Groundwater Vistas, GMS, or Visual MODFLOW), FEFLOW, unsaturated soil-atmosphere codes (HYDRUS-1D, HYDRUS2D/3D, or UNSAT-H), and at least one computer programming language is also desired.
- The candidate must be eligible to work permanently in the United States, possess a valid driver's license, and pass a pre-employment physical including drug screening and a criminal background check.
