  • [Company] . is currently seeking an Urban Development and Infrastructure Client Sector Leader; this individual will be responsible for developing a comprehensive understanding of the Urban Development and Infrastructure market segment on a national (in some cases international) basis. The Sector Leader will develop an integrated approach to where and how the company has/can have a competitive advantage, and implements a program to capitalize on the advantage. This individual will also establish sector goals and direct the use of discretionary time and activity of sector oriented staff in the offices, toward achieving sales goals.

Responsibilities

  • The U.S. Urban Development and Infrastructure Sector Leader will work with the Regional Leaders and Office Managers to monitor the opportunities, priorities and progress for each region, looking for synergies and connections as well as promoting interaction along service lines and technical communities related to Urban Development and Infrastructure. This individual will provide vision, capture opportunity and help build our revenue.

This Leader will:

  • Identify appropriate sector team members in collaboration with Office Managers and Regional Leaders;
  • Direct the sector related activities of appropriate designated staff in offices toward achieving sales goals;
  • Directs the expenditure of approved/budgeted sector funds;
  • Recommends staff changes, staff training, shifts in emphasis and new programmatic efforts designed to strengthen the sector and/or increase revenue and margins;
  • Develops and implements market sector plans as approved by the Management Team;
  • Meets or exceeds sector sales goals and monitors the profitability/quality of work won through sector initiatives;
  • Evaluates market size, buying patterns and preferences, and key players and decision makers of clients. Communicates appropriate information in a timely manner;
  • Identifies trends in the industry and recommends appropriate course of action to address;
  • Capitalizes on the relationship and confidence factor established with clients in one geographic area to leverage opportunities in other areas;
  • Recommends and prioritizes areas for geographic expansion and identifies strategic alliances;
  • Provides direction to offices on go/no go decisions for major market sector proposals;
  • Establishes and maintains information on clients, contacts, project opportunities, etc. Maintains and builds client base. Leads sector sales efforts by example;
  • Identifies business and market opportunities and recommends strategic hires in collaboration with Office Managers and Regional Leaders;
  • Provides input, reviews and approves marketing brochures and related materials for the sector. Assists in the development of SOQs and other business development materials utilized by offices;
  • Prepares an annual business plan and submits regular activity reports as required for the Management Team;
  • Actively seeks input and feedback from sector team members on leadership abilities, accomplishments, opportunities, etc.
  • Meets or exceeds goals and objectives identified in Balance Scorecards;
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or directed

Direction Received

  • Primary reporting relationship is with the Vice President, Business Development. Operates with companywide authority in directing the activities of the sector subject to overall operating company policies, objectives, and procedures.

Responsibility for the Direction of Others

  • Provides direction and support to sector oriented staff in office in the allocation of discretionary time and activities.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited curriculum in applicable area of expertise;
  • Fifteen or more years of experience providing leadership, counsel and direction for the operational performance of a business sector in a similar industry.
