Lead Structural Engineer

Role Summary:

Our Client is looking to add the Sr. Lead Structural Engineer to their Oakville team. The job would entail the responsibilities for the structural design on projects in the mining industry. This would include managing the structural steel and reinforced concrete structures for buildings, building and equipment foundations, pipe racks, site works, miscellaneous structures and tank foundations, dynamic analysis for equipment foundations and design of building envelope including roofing and walls.

Generic Duties And Responsibilities:

• Prepare conceptual and detailed design calculations, layouts, sketches, specifications
• Provide input to proposals, feasibility studies, design criteria, reports, preliminary design and engineering specifications
• Investigate field and design problems and prepare reports
• Liaison with Client, Authorities, Contractors
• Site visits and inspections
• Supervise and lead civil/structural project team(s), monitoring progress and issue of deliverables and reporting on performance of the team

Skills Set & Qualifications:

• Structural Engineer with 15+ years of relevant experience in the consulting industry
• Previous North American experience required
• Mining/Material Processing Plant experience required
• Must be able to demonstrate effective organizational skills working as a Senior Lead Engineer
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with clients and staff in a team environment as well as independently
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills are mandatory
• Dynamic Analysis of industrial structures experience is required

Education

• Bachelors or advanced degree in Structural / Civil Engineering;

Accreditation:

• Licensed with Professional Engineers of Ontario or other provincial/territorial professional engineering association in Canada;
• or registered with the Professional Engineers Of Ontario

• Ability to make decisions and solve problems using independent judgment in situations requiring the use of multiple variables in complex non-standard situations
• Operates with wide latitude for un-reviewed actions and decisions requiring independent judgment having direct impact on the company.

Salary Rate :  $120k - 140 k/per annum
