Senior Planner/Scheduler

Role Summary:

Our Client is looking to add the Sr. Planner / Scheduler to their Oakville team. The job would entail the responsibilities of providing support to the Project Controls team for the project activities for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction phases of the project in the mining industry. The Sr. Planner/Scheduler would liaise with Management, Engineering Team Leads, Sub consultants and Contractors in preparation of schedules.

Generic Duties And Responsibilities:

• Position based in the GTA but may require occasional short term travel to sites.
• Produce comprehensive schedules in various formats and level of details to suit a variety of users/audiences.
• Analyze validity of schedules submitted by outside parties contributing to the Project.
• Participate in an active role in risk management activities.
• Analyze and report productivity and trends.
• Forecast the impacts on schedule or proposed change.
• Attend management, project team and customer meetings and requested by the Project Manager.
• Conduct and document schedule review meetings.
• Train and supervise subordinates in the art of scheduling and the use of the designated software
• Primavera P6.
• Archive actual successful schedules as templates for estimating future similar projects. business entities on hedging strategies re bid proposals
• Discuss with Company, in the Treasury Manager's absence, the company's cash requirements and foreign exchange issues

Skills Set & Qualifications:

• Experience working in a Consulting Engineering (EPC) environment and familiarity with typical engineering disciplines and documentation.
• Highly Proficient in using Primavera P6 scheduling software
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with clients and staff at all levels.
• Previous experience in the mining industry is preferred particularly with construction experience from field assignments.

Education

• Technical College Graduate or Engineering Degree and a minimum of 5 -10 years of related experience.

• Ability to make decisions and solve problems using independent judgment in situations requiring the use of multiple variables in complex non-standard situations
• Operates with wide latitude for un-reviewed actions and decisions requiring independent judgment having direct impact on the company.

Salary Rate : $110k -120k
