Mechanical Engineer-Mineral Processing

Our client is a recognized leader in the field of mine design, mine engineering, mineral process design, project management and mine construction.

They specialize in Process Plant Design, Metallurgical Process Engineering, Mining Project Management, Metallurgical Consulting - Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility Studies, Dense Media Separation, PGM Concentrators, Tailings Retreatment Plants, Diamond Processing Plants and Process Control & Instrumentation Engineering.

They current have an opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to work with their team of technical professionals in the Toronto area. Reporting to a Project Manager this opportunity is for an Engineer with a minimum of 3 years experience working with mineral processing plants complemented with the following skills and experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the sizing and specification of equipment required
• liaise with equipment suppliers and select the equipment to be purchased
• Liaise with the Procurement Department and the equipment supplier during the purchasing of the equipment.
• Ensure that all work in progress is completed on time and to high quality standards.
• Draft work procedures.
• Source/Adjudicate external contractors
• Coordinate project logistics
• Generate project costs and quotations.
• Some travel will be required

Qualifications/Experience:

• 3-6 years of project engineering
• University Degree in Mechanical
• Must have at least 3 years experience working with mineral processing plants
• Professional Engineer designation would be an asset

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and will fairly reflect the value brought to the organization.
