Salary: $20.00 to $40.00 Hourly for 40 hours per week
Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of university
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association
Experience: 5 years or more
Area of Specialization: Underground or surface mine design or construction, Mining and exploration
Work Experience: Design, Project management, Project planning, Operations or production
Design Specialization: Mine shafts and hoists, Mine ventilation
Type of Mine Experience: Underground mines, Surface mines or quarries
Work Setting: Mining company
Specific Skills: Advise on drilling and blasting methods for mining, construction or demolition, Design shafts, ventilation and haulage systems, Plan and supervise the development, operation and maintenance of mines, Prepare operations and project estimates, schedules and reports, Implement and co-ordinate mine safety programs
Additional Skills: Supervise and co-ordinate the work of technicians, technologists, survey personnel and other engineers and scientists
Security and Safety: Criminal record check
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Attention to detail, Ability to distinguish between colours, Standing for extended periods
