Senior Drilling Engineer

Our client, a downtown Calgary Oil & Gas company, is seeking a Senior Drilling Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities Include:

• Execute scope of work through high quality planning, technical design, operating practices and cost estimates for vertical, deviated and horizontal wells
• Ensure regulatory requirements and reporting is met
• Drilling technical focal point for interactions with geology, exploitation & operations area team
• Investigate new drilling technologies for project implementation. Ability to execute on new ideas and follow through with documented learnings and recommendations
• Project management of drilling projects - quality control and track performance of safety, cost, schedule, quality
• Actively review EH&S guidelines and provide leadership role with onsite supervisors and vendors
• Provide well control and emergency planning response expertise
• Provide mentorship and technical support to junior technical staff
• Ability to travel to various field locations

Qualifications Include:

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering is preferred
• 10+ years of drilling experience
• Previous Conventional and Thermal experience an asset
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills are a must
• Ability to work in multi-functional results driven team environment and good project management skills
• Ability to travel to field locations
