Project Engineer

Our client is a global EPC firm with several major projects currently underway.

An opportunity is available for a Project Engineer.

Description:

  • Support the preparation and implementation of effective project execution plans & procedure
  • Monitor engineering design compliance to the Design Basis and uses the project Management of Change process to confirm changes
  • Monitor engineering design compliance to area budgets and mitigate potential cost over runs
  • Coordinate cross discipline input into procurement and contract technical packages assigned to their area
  • Monitor design evolution from basic engineering to detail construction and maintenance engineering documents and drawings and mitigate interdisciplinary conflicts
  • Review discipline progress and performance on a biweekly basis with the area discipline leads and develop action plans with project discipline leads when required
  • Provide Area Managers with monthly progress and performance write-ups for their area for inclusion in the Project Monthly report
  • Develop and maintain the area action log that shows decisions and information required to maintain the area schedule
  • Approve area engineering deliverables for scope prior to being issued for a commercial purpose.

Requirements:

  • University degree in relevant discipline
  • Member or ability to become a member of APEGGA or other Canadian Association
  • 10 to 20 years progressively more responsible relevant experience role on large-scale oilsands, mining, or oil & gas projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in multi-disciplined project software programs
